Notes
-
To enable speedstep drivers requires special options passed to the module:
speedstep-lib relaxed_check=1
speedstep-smi smi_port=0xb2 smi_cmd=0x82 smi_sig=1
-
The acpi modules work if you load them:
ac
battery
fan
processor
thermal
video
-
I use a Cisco 340 wireless card that the 2.6 kernel supports
-
I use a debian package called whereami to automatically detect what network I am connected to and configure settings such as mail server.
-
I get over 3 hours of battery life with speedstep enabled
Unresolved issues
- still working on the extra buttons, some generate acpi messages, some keycodes
- enable hard drive spindown on idle
- turn off backlight on idle
